My Research Proposal

The topic I hope to do my paper on is dragons.

My Topic and Why I’m Interested in It

The reason I wish to do my paper on dragons is that I have always had a fascination with the mythology of different cultures. I took an anthropology class last semester because of my interest in cultures and received an A. Dragons are a part of the folklore and the religions of many cultures. I am interested to learn of the similarities and differences that dragons have around the world. I am also interested in where the idea of dragons come from and whether or not their origins relate between cultures.

What unifies and separates the dragons of different cultures?

3) I figure this one should cover most of my other interests except 4 robots and space travel. DRAGONS. the history of dragons in different cultures. comparing and contrasting those perceptions and perhaps questioning whether or not dragons are simply the last of the dinosaurs. pretty interesting I kno. Almost to the point where i want to make this my top pick....

2) The afterlife. it's a biggie i kno but what the hey... idunno i have a interest in fiction so things like zombies and ghosts i find interesting, but im also very religious and am interested in many religions.... im being way too open ended about this one maybe ill just make another list....

1) I kinda want to research the realistic possibilities of superheroes. I know that there is no such thing as a real superhero these days, but i though i could do a little research on how the human body could be manipulated in order to produce "superhuman" results, and perhaps even compare and contrast these results to comic heroes and how they obtain there powers. The seems a little broad to me, so maybe i could focus on a certain character. idunno. eh....

The Backgroud to THIS: A Wonderful Adventure....

Well, I've written a fairly long research paper in High School, but i didn't get a very good grade at all. In fact, I failed the class in that grading period, but whatever. I hated the teacher with a fiery passion. My other research paper was on the architecture of cathedrals in the middle ages. I related it to modern architecture using specific examples in the Pittsburgh area. She only read the first page of what was 15 or so pages. I didn't think that was very fair. This led to one of my past "great adventures." Due to my angry state i failed to complete my oral presentation and skipped class for a couple of days in order to avoid her presence. People now call a repetition of my actions a "pulling a Mark." So although in some peoples eyes those days will live in infamy, to my friends I am a renown hero. A hero ready to set off on a new adventure...
